6 students stand on stage, performing in a play.

Students at Parker celebrated the Lunar New Year belatedly on February 16th with a vibrant program that featured a Lion Dance by 5th-grade students; a performance of “Angel Child, Dragon Child” by the Lunar New Year Club; a festive dance performance by 1st-grade students to “Ngày Tết Quê Em;” and a choral rendition of “Gong Xi Gong Xi” by our Grade 4 students. We wish the entire Parker community a very happy new year!

Thank you to our student performers and especially to our staff directors, Ms. Nguyen, Ms. Chu, Ms. Leung, Ms. Vu, and Mr. Thompson!

Image collage shows (clockwise, from top left): 9 young students stand onstage in traditional Vietnamese dress (a long, colorful tunic over white pants), and hold colorful fans as they dance; two 5th grade students in a traditional lion costume crouch on the ground as if asleep; Parker 4th graders sing a song while standing on risers in the Parker Media Center; 5th grade students lead a lion dance on-stage - a single dancer wearing a mask leads two students in a lion costume on-stage.
